Microneedling Post-Care Instructions
Following your microneedling treatment, it is imperative to adhere to the following instructions for
optimal healing and to mitigate potential complications.
Immediately After Treatment:
The microchannels created during the procedure remain open for approximately 18 hours. Avoid
applying anything to the skin during this time for optimal healing.
if necessary, gently cleanse your skin using a few pumps of a gentle cleanser in a clean bowl of
water.
First 24 Hours:
Keep the skin untreated except for gentle cleansing if needed.
If experiencing dryness, tightness, or itchiness, apply a gel or hyaluronic acid as your provider
recommends during the treatment.
First Week:
Avoid using retinol, vitamin A derivatives, acne treatments, active skincare products, or physical
exfoliants.
Protect your skin from the sun using physical barriers (such as hats) and apply SPF sunscreen.
What to Expect After Treatment
Day 1:
The skin may feel tight, dry, swollen, and sensitive to touch.
Expect the appearance and sensation of a sunburn.
Redness and sensitivity will generally last for about 24 hours.
Day 2:
Some persistent redness and swelling may occur, with possible bruising in more vascular areas,
such as under the eyes.
Resume using sunscreen, your regular moisturizer, and makeup.
Day 3:
Most redness and swelling should begin to subside.
The skin may still feel dry and begin to flake.
Day 4:
Skin typically returns to its normal appearance.
Days 2-7:
The skin may feel rough like sandpaper and continue flaking.
Continued Care:
Avoid sun exposure for 4 weeks to protect the healing skin.
